Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer identified as the provider of Watchlist AI on the marketplace where you obtained the app (“Watchlist AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Watchlist AI app, website, and related services (the “Service”).
Information we collect
- Account and sign-in information. The Service creates a Firebase account identifier, including for anonymous use. If you choose email, Google, or Apple sign-in, we may receive your email address, display name, sign-in provider, and related authentication information. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
- Your watches and generated content. We process the watch names and descriptions you submit, refined search requests, schedules, time zone, display preferences, generated summaries, source links, result history, and task status needed to provide recurring searches.
- Device and notification information. If you enable alerts, we process an Expo push token, notification preference, notification contents, delivery status, and read status. The app also stores limited settings, authentication state, and cached app data on your device or browser.
- Subscription information. Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat process purchases. We receive information such as a pseudonymous customer identifier, product or package, entitlement status, subscription status, and transaction-related records. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
- Usage, diagnostics, and security information. We process service events such as screens viewed on the web, feature usage, manual-run limits, timestamps, request identifiers, errors, and technical logs needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service. Firebase Analytics is used on the web version when supported.
How we use information
We use information to:
- create and authenticate accounts;
- refine, run, and schedule your watches;
- search current public web sources and generate focused updates;
- save recent results and deliver requested notifications;
- provide, restore, and enforce subscription features and usage limits;
- maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability; and
- comply with law and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, the Service, and others.
AI and search processing
To complete a watch, its description or refined search request is sent to Exa for web search. The request, source titles, source excerpts, source names, publication dates, and similar search material may then be sent to Google Gemini to generate the requested summary and results. Do not place passwords, payment-card details, government identifiers, medical records, or other highly sensitive personal information in a watch description.
How information is disclosed
We disclose information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy:
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud provide authentication, database, hosting, analytics, Cloud Functions, operational logging, and backend infrastructure.
- Exa provides public-web search.
- Google Gemini refines watch requests and synthesizes search results.
- Expo provides app updates and push-notification delivery.
- RevenueCat manages subscription status and entitlements.
- Apple and Google provide sign-in where selected, app distribution, in-app purchases, subscription management, and related fraud, tax, and legal processing.
- Legal and safety recipients may receive information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights and safety.
- Business-transition recipients may receive information as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it to serve third-party targeted advertisements.
Retention
We retain account information and active watches while your account is active. The Service currently keeps up to five recent runs for each watch and up to ten recent in-app notifications, while task records and the latest task status remain until you delete the watch or account. These limits may change as the Service evolves.
Operational, security, backup, and provider records may remain for a limited period when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, service integrity, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may retain transaction and subscription records under their own policies and legal obligations.
Account deletion
You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Your account and data → Delete my account. This removes the Firebase user account and the Watchlist AI data stored under it, including saved watches, run history, notifications, registered device tokens, and usage-limit records. You can also review the public account-deletion instructions.
Deletion does not automatically cancel an Apple or Google subscription. It also does not require Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or other providers to delete records they independently must retain for transactions, fraud prevention, security, tax, or legal compliance. Limited logs and backups may persist temporarily as described above, and locally cached data may remain until you clear the app’s data or uninstall it.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can disable push notifications in Watchlist AI or your device settings, manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account, edit or delete watches, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to certain processing, and to appeal a denied request or complain to a privacy regulator.
Use the contact method on our Support page to make a privacy request. We may need to verify that you control the relevant account. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
Legal bases and international processing
Where a legal basis is required, we process information as necessary to provide the Service you request, based on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, with consent where required, and to comply with legal obligations. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different privacy laws from your country. We use protections required by applicable law for these transfers.
Security
We use measures designed to protect information, including authenticated access, encrypted network transport, database access controls, and server-side authorization. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
Watchlist AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, use the contact method on our Support page so we can investigate and delete it where required.
External sources
Watchlist AI results may link to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service or law changes. We will revise the effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
